Amnesty is a visual exploration of rekindling spirituality and reconnecting with faith. In recent years, I have felt a growing disconnect, questioning and straying from my relationship with God, my creator. Yet, the title of this series reflects the unwavering forgiveness and boundless love I believe He extends an invitation to return, no matter how distant I have become.
This project seeks to revive the longing for spiritual connection by capturing imagery that evokes nostalgia and memory, drawing from the congregations I frequented as a child and youth parishioner. St. Margaret Mary Chapel, St. Philip Neri, and the Toronto Necropolis serve as both the setting and the subject of this journey, each location carrying echoes of past devotion and personal significance.
Through hauntingly beautiful compositions, soft movements, and moody atmospheres, these images replicate the emotions I once experienced in these sacred spaces. The interplay of light and shadow conveys an ethereal yet somber tone, reflecting both the weight of doubt and the hope of renewal.
